Water and Wastewater Science and Technology Park office building project with LEED certification approach

Iran and Sustainable Development

According to Iran’s commitment, at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference (Paris 21 Cup), to reduce the current carbon dioxide emissions by 4% by 2030 (1409 solar) unconditionally and 8% conditionally and the process of climate change and the water crisis ahead, the macro strategies of the country’s construction industry, like other industries, will require the development of concepts and approaches to sustainable development. Hence, methods such as the use of renewable energy and clean fuels (such as solar energy, wind energy, geothermal, biogas, etc.), the use of solutions to optimize water consumption, and the use of methods to prevent energy loss In buildings, along with the development of regulations for sustainable (green) buildings, Iran will play a significant role in fulfilling its international obligations.

In recent years, the wastewater treatment plant south of Tehran has become a focal point for implementing sustainable development goals. This treatment plant’s output water is used to irrigate the agricultural lands of Varamin plain and biogas, resulting from the digestion of the treatment plant sludge to generate electricity and heat. Therefore, the construction of the office building project of the Science and Water and Wastewater Science Park aims to create a suitable platform for developing the scientific and software sector and keeping pace with the latest technologies and approaches in the world the list. According to this approach, in this project, the implementation of green building patterns (buildings in line with the environment) has been selected as one of the world’s construction procedures. In this regard, for the first time in Iran, achieving one of the levels of international LEED certification for the building in question in the treatment plant south of Tehran, as one of the most common environmental regulations in the design and construction of green buildings, the goal has been posted.
