Exploring Awareness Level of Sustainability at Amirkabir University of Technology
What do your students really think about environmental issues? How do they feel when they hear about the global crisis?
In the end of the 20th century, the environmental concerns grew much greater, not only among the developed countries but also in some developing and underdeveloped nations. Since universities play an important role in effecting social change towards a sustainable society, AUT office of sustainability decided to begin surveying to evaluate the level of environmental awareness in the concept of sustainable development among its students.Junior students are the main focus of attention because of the inherent flexibility in curricula to infuse environment into existing subjects.
For this purpose, we designed a survey using a questionnaire as data collection instrument which provides a way for each student to express their views on a range of issues in complete anonymity. Methods of analyzing data were descriptive and T-test where SPSS software is employed.
The questionnaire is attached and the analysis results will be accessible as soon as possible. We hope that the results of the survey provide useful and sufficient information to improve students’ environmental awareness to prepare them for making the peace with the environment.
We would be grateful if you assist our polling researchers with completing the questionnaires carefully!
