The final report of the second symposium of water resources policymakers entitled “Food Security and Sustainable Governance of Water Resources”

The second symposium of water resources policymakers entitled Food Security & Sustainable Governance was held in the Fajr Hall of the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization on Thursday, March 3, 2016, with the participation of the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Jihad Agriculture, Amirkabir University of Technology, Environmental Protection Organization and Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Tehran Agricultural Mines. Dr. Boroumand, Vice Chancellor for Research at Amirkabir University of Technology, at the inauguration of this symposium, referring to the determination of Amirkabir University of Technology in introducing and reducing sustainable development in the country, said: Food security is one of the main policy axes of the most important concerns of today’s societies. Therefore, paying attention to the possible problems and difficulties in this field is the concern of the social institutions of the communities. In another part of his speech, he added: the government should have careful planning to reduce water consumption and this planning should be operational and not a slogan so that we reduce a certain percentage of our water consumption annually.
In her speech, Dr. Mazaheri, Vice-Chancellor for Education and Research of Amirkabir University of Technology, pointed to the ecological footprint and, while introducing these two concepts, asked all organizations related to food and water security to pay attention to these two important categories and Also consider environmental pollution and do not depend on environmental pollution to achieve their goals.

This symposium ended at 16:30 after holding three specialized panels of the Environmental Protection Organization, the Ministry of Jihad for Agriculture and the Ministry of Energy.
